Milton Keynes Academy

CBP were commissioned by Milton Keynes Academy to design and gain planning approval for the erection of a new freestanding science teaching block and separate dining hall. The aim of the project was to greatly improve the facilities of the school.

The academy did not have a sufficient number of science laboratories to meet the needs of the curriculum. With the academy placing great importance on the teaching of the STEM curriculum, an increase in capacity was required.

The original restaurant was undersized and not in the most appropriate location to safely manage the flow and supervision of students at lunch and break times. The re-location of the restaurant frees up the existing restaurant area allowing this to be utilised as a new reception and multi gym. Overall, the project supports the Milton Keynes Academy in delivering their educational output.
