British Film Institute Southbank

London
Location
London

Situated beneath and attached to Waterloo Bridge (Grade II Listed) on the Southbank in London, the iconic British Film Institute required significant roofing and drainage works, and a full replacement of the domed rooflights located either side of bridge, due to ingress of storm water in several places.

CBP Architects carried out a full roof inspection and developed the condition report including a feasibility study, before developing the RIBA stage 3 drawings for planning and Listed Building Consent. Working closely with the client, CBP developed the detail design for the roof refurbishment and new domed Velux rooflights, and provided architectural support throughout the construction phase to post-handover.
