Situated on MOD Chicksands in Bedfordshire, Gilbertine Priory and adjacent outbuildings required a full scope of conservation survey works and restoration design proposals up to RIBA stage 3. CBP architects were commissioned as the conservation architects and lead designer to undertake a comprehensive scope pre-tender surveys and proposals to address the historic external fabric and internal decorative plaster ceilings.

The works involved detailed conservation investigation and analysis that required an extensive design team, from thermo-imaging and ecological surveys to timber specialist and structural expertise. Using a point-cloud survey and BIM modelling, CBP produced a series of precise drawings, included with the holistic pre-tender survey report and conservation works proposals.
